Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington wanted to offer their students an updated space for dining in time for its 2013 fall semester. The project required EDE's architectural woodworking team's experience in foodservice design, equipment specifications, flooring, lighting and furniture selection. Foodservice structures like cabinets, countertops, display cases, POS stands, finished tables and more took on colors and styles that reflected earthiness and nature. Designs for Wesleyan's new space had the added challenges of needing to accommodate more people than before and updating the technology within the area. Overall, the architectural woodworking team's efforts resulted in an open, modern and comforting cafeteria space.
