Nike’s traveling “Hoop History exhibit was created to promote the Nike brand by illustrating Chicago’s love for basketball. The exhibit incorporated archival videos of famous players in action, documenting signature moves like Tim Hardaway’s “killer crossover.” The exhibit also showcased legends on the street ball circuit of Chicago through a bleacher area with a miniaturized basketball court and inlaid artifact cases. The traveling exhibit also included a wide variety of artifacts from other players, including jerseys, signed basketballs, Nike shoes and trophies. The Hoop History exhibit traveled to all 30 cities in the National Basketball Association, illustrating how participation in basketball can lead to a college education and an exceptional professional career.
