Shaw Floors

This custom rental exhibit was produced for Greenbuild, an annual conference dedicated to green building practices. With EDE’s help, Shaw received the top award as an environmentally friendly exhibit leader at the conference. The exhibit used a modular aluminum structure with recyclable fabric graphic panels as a framework for an overhead sculpture resembling a working loom. The sculpture consisted of over 1,000 lines of yarn—woven through 30 crossbars and consisted of six colors—which created a moiré visual experience for visitors walking down the stairway entrance next to the exhibit. The interior of the exhibit showcased each of Shaw’s product lines with an explanation of their environmentally friendly qualities. Running the length of the exhibit was Shaw’s flooring, which featured a shag texture complementing two 15” wide strips of Shaw hardwood. The overall exhibit educated and inspired visitors about the possibilities of using Shaw products to accomplish green building initiatives.
