Lake County Museum

The Lake County Discovery Museum was planned, engineered, constructed and installed by EDE. The project duration spanned over three years from initial master planning to final completion. The museum featured comprehensive exhibits about the history, environment, and Chicago connections of Lake County, Illinois through an interactive audio tour. One of the highlights of our work for the museum involved the creation of an interactive room, which used historic footage to simulate the experience of riding one of the first wooden roller coasters in the Midwest. Another key exhibit in the museum was the Teich Postcard Archives, which displayed thousands of examples from the collection—the largest in the world—in an interactive tunnel. The exhibits continue to be one of the primary attractions for visitors to the Lake County area.
