InterfaceFLOR

InterfaceFLOR has struggled with numerous problems in past exhibits: uneven exhibit hall floors, under carpet wiring, poor lighting and modularity. For the carpeting company’s exhibit at the 2007 Hospitality Design Show, EDE developed a number of integrated solutions. To ensure that the carpeting products were properly displayed, EDE designed and built a custom raised flooring system that allowed the flooring to remain completely level and allowed room for running electrical cords throughout the exhibit without mercer strips or unsightly bumps. A custom grid ceiling structure was also created with custom-made Plexiglas ceiling tiles. This allowed show hall lighting to be blended into an even overhead light, while Juno light tracks were installed to create spot lighting on areas. The exhibit was engineered around the last challenge—modularity. The structure was created in 10’ x 10’ modules, allowing the exhibit to be displayed in any 10’ increment
